What is Career Technical Education?
Career Technical Education (CTE) is a program
for high school students in grades 9-12 to help
prepare them for the future. Whether you choose
to go to college or not, the ECOT CTE Academy
provides students with various pathways that pave
the way for rewarding career opportunities. CTE
courses are designed to engage students for relevant,
real-world learning experiences. By the time a
student graduates from high school, it is possible
to have earned college credit towards a degree,
certifications for various industries, and on-the-job
Why is Career Technical Education important?
ECOT is committed to helping each of our graduates
work towards a meaningful, fulfilling career. We
know that employers are searching for skilled employees
who are ready to enter the job force. College is not
for everyone, nor is it a possibility for everyone.
Career Technical Education courses give students the
skills they need to begin a career directly after
graduating from high school. If students are college
bound, many courses can be taken in high school for
college credit. ECOT is passionate about ensuring each
student graduates from high school, but beyond graduation,
we care deeply about the future of each of our students.
CTE is the bridge between graduation and career readiness.

Teaching and learning is at the heart of what ECOT is all about. Academic achievement for all learners is our focus, and we work hard to remove academic barriers so each child experiences success in the classroom. ECOT understands that circumstances outside of the classroom impact families and academic achievement. If you, or someone in your family has had difficulty finding employment, we want to help.
